Glossary
There is no doubt that developing reliable research requires a broad range of information and adequate data. The presence of a glossary of terms is one of the basic elements that help avail such information and data.
It is one of the tools necessary to make full use of the available data and information, and therefore, is considered one of the prerequisites for successful research. Think tanks usually tend to compile the terms related to their field in one glossary.
However, the value added of this glossary is compiling the terms of various fields related to economics in one document. It also aims to complement the mission of ECES as a non-profit think tank that seeks to support the Egyptian economy through quality research aimed at developing economic policies and proposing institutional and legislative reforms that contribute to achieving sustainable development in Egypt on the basis of economic efficiency and social justice.
The English terms in this glossary were compiled from a number of reliable sources, indicated in their place and at the end of the document. Areas covered include labor, digital economy and ICT, accounting, fiscal, monetary and statistics.
The terms are translated by ECES. Other translations from reliable organizations are also used and are indicated in their place.
