The objective is to identify the reforms priorities to harness the power of tax policy and tax administration for ensuring cost-effective fiscal sustainability and inclusive growth. The event will build on the vibrant international dialogue on tax updates and their relevance to public finance situation in Egypt. The focus of the event will be on policy in practice, with respect to challenges facing SMEs taxation and integration into the formal sector, while reflecting on international best practices on tax administration, distributional effects, and impacts on competitiveness. Moreover, insights and views from the event will help inform and shape the ECES’s future research priorities.
