Title: Economist
- Participates in research design and definition of data collection methods and manipulation.
- Collects and analyses data.
- Prepares a summary of selected books and periodicals to assist in the preparation of different research topics.
- Assists in preparing research reports as well as publications.
- Assists in preparing presentations by senior staff, outside speakers and lecturers.
- Occasionally designs and implements small research projects, alone or with more senior staff, on specific topics within the work program of the center.
- Attends conferences and seminars of interest as approved by the Executive Director/Director of Research.
- Undertakes other assignments as necessary to ensure the success of the Center.
Job Qualifications and Capabilities
- M.A. in Economics or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in applied research, preferably.
- Command of alternative research techniques and related software packages.
- Intention to pursue further studies.
- Dynamic personality and strong sense of public interest.
- Fluent in Arabic and English
Title: Senior Economist/Project Leader
Reports to: Principal Economist/Projects Leader
- Designs and conducts economic research independently, within the work program of the Center.
- Supervises economists and research analysts working with him/her on particular projects.
- Helps to improve the technical skills of economists and research analysts.
- Delivers high quality research papers for review by the Director of Research, Lead and Principal Economists and integrates their comments.
- Prepares progress reports on his/her projects.
- Attends and organizes workshops and seminars, as approved by the Executive Director/Director of Research.
- Presents him/herself professionally to Egyptian policy makers and the public to enhance their opinion of the Center.
- Selects his/her research team in consultation with the Executive Director/Director of Research, Lead Economist or Principal Economist, depending on the project.
- Performs other duties as needed to ensure the success of the Center in its mission.
